New Info:
Our first $1.00 Dress Down Day is on Wednesday, 9-02-09. This is an opportunity for students to wear clothes of their choosing to school, if they pay $1.00. However, clothes should be appropriate for school. Colthing items should be of appropriate length and fit, and shirts should have sleeves, and should not have an offensive logo.
This is the time of year when students become sick. Students are not permitted to carry their own medication while they are at school. All medications must be taken to the Health Clerk's office by a parent or guardian, and the appropriate paperwork must be on file. Please check the Student Handbook for additional details.
We are having our pictures taken on Monday, 8-31-09. Students will wear their uniform for this picture.
A copy of the spelling words is sent home each week. The list sent home is for practice only. All spelling word assignments are completed in class. Only unfinished assignments will become homework.

Welcome:
I am excited to be able to spend the upcoming school year with you! I will be posting a copy of our weekly spelling words on this site, as well as information about special assignments. Our first spelling list will appear next week. I will also post some of the upcoming school events. Please refer to the student link for additional information.
We have an Open House on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to see our school campus, our classroom, and to view some of the things we have been learning. I hope to see you all there!
I would like to develop open lines of communication with everyone. To that end, I will be contacting a couple of parents each week to discuss how things are going. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns. I can be reached by sending me a note, or by email at mpelchy@cox.net, or by calling 721-4205.
Have a great week!
