Reflections:
This has been an interesting week. We have
learned about autumn, the different types of trees, and why leaves change color.

11-25-09 to 11-27-09 Thanksgiving Break, No school.

New Info:
On Friday, 10-30-09, we will have a regular school day. We will not be having a Halloween Party, and students are not allowed to wear costumes to school. However, we will be celebrating the harvest season by eating any treats brought by students to the class that day. Please send snacks that are low in sugar. Fruit, vegetables, chips and dip, cheese, and crackers are nice alternatives.

Please be working on the Heritage Box Assignments. They are due in about three weeks.

Welcome to the Second Quarter!

Reflections:
I hope you all had a fabulous time during the Harvest Break. It is nice to be able to go outside and enjoy the cooler Fall weather.

New Info:
I really appreciate all who were able to come watch the children perform their plays. They did such a wonderful job, and they were pleased to share them with you. For
anyone unable to attend the last performance, or those who would like to visit again, we will be having another show, with different plays, in January 2010.

Today, I am sending home information about the Heritage Project and Heritage Feast assignment. This project is completed outside of class. The Heritage Box is due November 13, 2009. Students will begin presentations at that time. The Heritage feast is November 20, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. Students will bring a food item to share with the class. Parents are invited. Please read the information forms for additional information on how to complete the project, and what is expected for the feast.

We will be completing a long term project in class this quarter. It is a pop-up book, and it is due November 06, 2009. A rubric and details will be provided to students today.

Hi Everyone!

There will be no Spelling Test this week. However, we will have lessons in all other subjects.

10-07-09 $1.00 Dress Down Day. Pay a dollar, and wear the clothes of your choice. Remember, clothes should follow school guidelines. Please refer to the Student Handbook for a list of what is appropriate.

10-08-09 40th Day. Students can wear anything they like, as long as it is school appropriate. Students will eat a special lunch, and will receive a ticket for free popcorn.

10-08-09 We will be performing skits and celebrating our efforts from 9:00a.m. to 10:00a.m. Please join us during that time. Afterwards, students will have a regular school day.

10-09-09 End of 1st Quarter. It is a ½ day. No lunch will be served, and there is no after school. Students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. Report cards will be sent home. Students may wear Friday dress.

10-12-09 and 10-13-09 There is no school, because it is our Harvest Break.
