12-11-09 Holiday gift making.
12-11-09 Last day for homework to be turned in for this quarter.
12-16-09 Report cards go home. It is a half day, with no lunch or after school.
12-17-09 to 1-01-10 Winter Vacation, no school.
1-04-10 School resumes again.

Thank you very much to everyone who sponsored our turkey dinner, and to those of you who cooked a turkey for us.
The school is sponsoring a Holiday Shop. It will be set up in the cafeteria 12-07-09 to 12-11-09. If you would like to volunteer to oversee the shop for a short time during that week, please let me or someone at the administration desk know.
On Friday, 12-11-09 we will be making Holiday gifts in the classroom. This will enable students to give a gift to their parents. This is a much smoother process when I have a couple parents help me. Please let me know if you are able to help. As I only need the help of two parents, volunteers will be accepted in the order of which they respond.
There are about two weeks of school days left for this quarter. It is imperative that assignments missed due to absence be turned in by 12-11-09. Otherwise, they will not be able to be included in this grading period.
12-16-09 Is the last day of the second quarter. Report cards will go home, and it is a half day with no lunch served or after school care. We will be dismissed at 11:30 p.m.
12-17-09 to 1-01-10 is our Winter Vacation. There will be no school during that time. School we resume on 1-04-10.
Reminders:
On the first Wednesday of each month students are allowed to wear appropriate clothes of their choice to school if they pay $1.00. Our Next $1.00 Dress Down Day is December 02, 2009.

Happy Thanksgiving!!
Reflections:
Thanks to everyone who helped make the Heritage Feast fabulous. I really appreciate the time invested in preparing the food for our consumption. The food was great, and I enjoyed seeing the many parents who were able to attend.

Tuesday 11-24-09, students will be served a special Thanksgiving style lunch. In honor of the day, students may wear Friday attire to school.
There will be no school 11-25-09 to 11-27-09, so that everyone may enjoy their Thanksgiving festivities.

We have started the Heritage project presentations. They are very informative, and interesting! I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the Heritage feast on Wednesday.

This is the time of year that many students to get sick. To prevent the spread of illness, if your child has a temperature or is sick, please keep your child at home.
Students are expected to make up the work they miss while they are absent. If you would like to pick up missed assignments before the child returns to school, please ask, and I will prepare them for you.
The third grade classes are responsible for supplying 2 turkeys per class for the students’ Thanksgiving Feast, 11-24-09. To pay for them, each student should bring $1.00 to class by Friday, 11-13-09. Then I will buy the turkeys. Please notify me by Wednesday if you are willing to cook one of the turkeys for our class. The turkey would need to be cooked and sliced and at the school by 9:30 a.m. on 11-24-09.

Hello!

As always we had a really busy week. We now have two caterpillars we are learning about as we watch them go through the process to become a butterfly.

11-13-09 Heritage Project due. Presentations begin.
11-20-09 Heritage Feast at 11:30 a.m.
11-24-09 Thanksgiving Feast for students
11-25-09 to 11-27-09 Thanksgiving Break, No school.

Progress reports will be sent home this week. Only students who are below 75% in any area will receive one.
The third grade classes are responsible for supplying 2 turkeys per class for the students’ Thanksgiving Feast, 11-24-09. To pay for them, each student should bring $1.00 to class by Friday, 11-13-09. Then I will buy the turkeys. Please notify me by Friday if you are willing to cook one of the turkeys for our class. Breaking News:
Due to unexpected circumstances it has been necessary to reschedule the Heritage Feast.
The Heritage Feast has been moved to Wednesday, November 18, 2009. It will begin at 11:00a.m. Please have all food to the room by 10:45a.m.
Parents are invited to join us. I hope to see all of you there.

I am very thankful for everyone who helped make last week so successful. Thanks to everyone who sent in goodies for our classroom harvest feast. I also appreciate all the candy, hotdog, and hotdog bun donations for the Harvest Festival. The festival was great, and I enjoyed seeing so many of you there.

Students may wear a long sleeved shirt under their uniform shirt if the undershirt is red, white or, navy. Sweatshirts and sweaters may only be worn in class if they are red, white, or navy, and have no logo or printing on them.
