Happy New Year!

Reflections:
I hope everyone had a fabulous Winter Break! I am really looking forward to the second half of the school year. There are many fun and interesting things planned, and I am looking forward to sharing them with all of you.

Important Dates:
1-06-10 $1.00 Dress Down Day
1-15-10 Movie Night
1-18-10 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. No School
1-27-10 100th Day of school

New Info:
As we begin the New Year, I would like to take a moment to review some of the school and classroom policies.

Students should be reading a minimum of 1 hour a week. Each reading session should be recorded on the reading log, and submitted to me on Friday.

All assignments are due by Friday, unless otherwise noted. Assignments not completed by Friday will be finished in homework club.

Dress code is a red, white, or navy collared shirt, with navy or khaki shorts, pants, or skirts. Shorts and skirts should be no fewer than four inches above the knee. Sweatshirts and sweaters must also be red, white, or navy if students intend to wear them in the classroom. Long-sleeved shirts worn under the uniform shirt should also be in the uniform color.

We have P.E. on Tuesday and Thursday. Students should wear appropriate shoes on these days, in order for them to participate safely.

The 100th Day of school is January 27, 2010. This is an important funding day for the school. Please make sure that all students are at school, and on time on this day. We will have many fun things planned to make the day even more exciting!

I would like to meet with all parents during the month of January. Please call me, or send me a note letting me know when you would be available for a conference. I will contact you to confirm the meeting.

Reminders:
I encourage you to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns. You may call the school to set up an appointment, or email me at mpelchy@cox.net. View my blog at http:mrspelchy.blogspot.com/ for
updates and current information.

Best Wishes for a wonderful week!!

Mrs. Pelchy
