I can’t believe how fast the quarter is passing by. We are already at the midway point, and still have so many interesting things to do.

New Info:
Last week, I sent home a copy of the third grade spelling words we will be using for the Spelling Bee in our classroom on February 15, 2010. The three top spellers from our class will compete with children form the other third grade and fourth grade classrooms in March.
Due to the Valentine’s Day celebration on Friday, we will be having our homework club on Thursday this week. Therefore, all assignments, including reading logs, must be in by Thursday.
Reminders:
Valentine Balloon Grams are on sale now at the front office. There is a limited supply, and they will be available at a first come basis.
Rodeo Break is February 25, 2010 and February 26, 2010. There will be no school on these two days.
This year, Valentine’s Day is on Sunday. We will have a Valentine’s Day card exchange on Friday, February 12, 2010. It will be during the last hour of the day. Students may bring nutritious snacks to share with the class during this time. Please do not send in cookies or cupcakes.
Mid-quarter progress reports will be going home during the week of February 8, 2010. Only those students with a grade of 75% or less will receive one.
Love of Reading week begins February 8, 2010 and ends February 12, 2010. We will be engaging in many activities to express our love of reading
Talent Show auditions are in February. Keep practicing!
Students should be reading a minimum of 1 hour a week. Each reading session should be recorded on the reading log, and submitted to me on Friday.
