Summer Break is almost here...

Reflections:
It is surprising how quickly the year has flown by. There are only two weeks of school left, and we have a lot planned. One of the things we are finishing is our inventor and explorer reports. We have been having a lot of fun finding out the details about some of history’s amazing people.

Important Dates:
5-26-10 Yearbook signing party
5-28-10 Last day of school

New Info:
We will be having a party on the last day of school. Students may bring a snack of their choice to share with others. They may also bring a board game, or similar activity, of their choice to play with others. Please do not bring any electronic games.

The last week of school will be very busy. Please contact me before then if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s academics.

If your student will not be at school on the last day of school please bring me a note asking for the report card to be sent home on Thursday, 5-27-10. Otherwise, report cards will be sent home with the student on Friday, 5-28-10, or mailed to the address on file in the event the student is absent.

Reminders:
The last day of school is 5-28-10. This will be a half day with no after school or lunch. All students should be picked up promptly at 11:30 a.m.

We will be having regular classroom academics through 5-21-10. At that time, all homework assignments are due. Nothing will be accepted after that date. After that date, all classroom activities will be review activities.

Our classroom desperately needs pencils, facial tissue, and disinfectant wipes. We do NOT have enough of these items to last for the rest of the year. Please send these items to school as soon as possible. Thank you to those of you who have already helped us.
As the weather is getting warmer, I recommend that all students bring a water bottle to school. They may keep it on their desk.

Students should be reading a minimum of 1 hour a week. Each reading session should be recorded on the reading log, and submitted to me on Friday. 05-23-10 is the last day for the reading logs to be turned in.

I encourage you to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns. You may call the school to set up an appointment, or email me at pelchym@yahoo.com or view my blog at http:mrspelchy.blogspot.com/ for
updates and current information.
