New Info:
The AIMS testing is the week of April 12, 2010. The third grade will be testing on Tuesday, 04-13-10, Thursday, 4-15-10, and Friday, 04-16-10. Students should come to class on time that week, as they will not be admitted to class if testing has started that morning. Late arrivals will wait in the office until all classes are finished testing for the day. Testing is mandatory. If a student misses part of the test, he/she will make it up the following week.
Test tips:
1. Get a lot of sleep before the test.
2. Eat a nutritious breakfast.
3. Drink water to stay properly hydrated.
4. Do the best you can.
5. Relax!
Although we will complete assignments and continue learning, schoolwork will be less arduous this week, 4-12 to 4-16, due to the AIMS testing. We will have no homework or tests this week either.
Students may bring a book, small puzzle, small stuffed animal, or other small, quiet, non-electronic item to school to use after the test during a quiet moment. The item must fit in the backpack, and NOT be a distraction to other students.
Reminders:
As the weather is getting warmer, I recommend that all students bring a water bottle to school. They may keep it on their desk.
Spelling list schedule:
Week: 4-05-10 list 26
4-12 10 no list due to AIMS testing
4-19-10 list 27
4-26-10 list 28
Students should be reading a minimum of 1 hour a week. Each reading session should be recorded on the reading log, and submitted to me on Friday.
