Hi everyone!

Reflections:
We have successfully survived the Aims! Thank you for all your hard work! There are only 30 days of school left…

Important Dates:
4-23-10 Mother/Son dance
4-28-10 3rd and 4th grade Olympics
5-03 to 5-07 Book Fair: buy one, get one free
5-05-10 $1.00 Dress Down Day
5-07-10 Pancake Breakfast with Principal
5-26-10 Yearbook signing party
5-28-10 Last day of school

New Info:
We have successfully finished the AIMS testing. I appreciate everyone’s hard work and dedication. We will now resume our normal classroom activities, which include spelling assignments and homework. Please bring your planner every day, and turn in the reading log on Friday.

As we have studied ancient Rome and Greece, and we are currently studying American government, we will use our new knowledge to establish our own country within our classroom. When this is complete, we will are having a 3rd and 4th grade Olympics on 4-28-10. Students in each class will compete against the other classes in events. Students may win medals for their “country”. Unfortunately, there is not sufficient room for parents to attend. This is a student event only.

I will be sending home progress reports this week. This will give students a chance to learn about any subjects in which they need to improve before the end of the year. Please sign the form, and return it to me acknowledging receipt and whether a conference is requested.

Reminders:
As the weather is getting warmer, I recommend that all students bring a water bottle to school. They may keep it on their desk.

Spelling list schedule:
Week: 4-05-10 list 26
4-12 10 no list due to AIMS testing
4-19-10 list 27
4-26-10 list 28

Students should be reading a minimum of 1 hour a week. Each reading session should be recorded on the reading log, and submitted to me on Friday.

I encourage you to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns. You may call the school to set up an appointment, or email me at mpelchy@cox.net. View my blog at http:mrspelchy.blogspot.com/ for
